Election of WEAC Region 10/Retired Executive Committee: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Membership Coordinator, At-Large Representative

The terms of office for all WEAC-Region 10/Retired Executive Committee members expire on August 31, 2018. We are holding an at-large election among WEAC Region 10/Retired members to fill the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Membership Coordinator and At-Large Representative for three-year terms beginning September 1, 2018.

All WEAC Region 10/Retired members are eligible to run for any of the five WEAC Region 10/Retired Executive Committee positions, to nominate other WEAC Region 10/Retired members as candidates and to vote in the elections. WEAC Region 10/Retired Bylaw V prohibits members from being a candidate for more than one WEAC Region 10/Retired position or simultaneously holding more than one elected position on the WEAC 10/Retired Board of Directors. Active members who are Pre-Retired Subscribers may neither be a candidate nor vote in the election.

Nominations must be submitted in writing to the office of WEAC Executive Director, P.O. Box 8003, Madison, WI, 53708-8003, postmarked no later than JANUARY 12, 2018.

After the nomination deadline, a ballot will be sent to each WEAC Region 10/Retired member and candidates’ qualifications statement will be made available on-line. Ballots must be returned in a sealed envelope to the WEAC Executive Director’s office by March 9, 2018. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes for each position shall be declared elected to that respective office.

WEAC Region 10/Retired Policy 11.1 provides that candidates for office may receive a list of WEAC Region 10/Retired members and/or mailing labels upon request. Requests for such lists and/or labels should be directed to the WEAC Executive Director’s office and payment for such lists and/or labels must be received in advance.
